This notice explains what we do with the email address you give us when you join the waitlist for The Great Cloud. It is intentionally short, because we collect very little.
It covers thegreatcloudgame.life and every subdomain of it — including expeditions.thegreatcloudgame.life, the page for our stand-alone strategy game Cloudfall: Expeditions (working title), and the /refiner/ page for our puzzle game Aether Refiner. Any app we release carries its own privacy notice, published here before that app is available; the Aether Refiner app's notice is at /refiner/privacy.
Only your email address, and only if you choose to submit it through the waitlist form. We do not ask for your name, location, or any other personal details. Your cookie preferences are managed by an open-source consent banner served from this website itself: your choice is kept in your own browser, and no third party receives or stores it. Until you choose, only strictly necessary storage is set — the record of your choice itself.
Google Analytics is not loaded at all unless you accept analytics cookies. If you do, we use Google Analytics to understand how the website is performing and which parts of The Great Cloud visitors seem most interested in — for example, which sections, updates, screenshots, or calls to action people spend time with. We use this to improve the site, spot technical issues, and learn what excites players most as development continues.
Analytics cookies do not give us your name or email address. Your email address is only collected if you choose to submit the waitlist form. You can change or withdraw your cookie choice at any time: Cookie settings opens the banner again. The same link appears at the foot of this website's pages, and in the game under Settings → Privacy.
Solely to send you news and updates about our games — The Great Cloud and the other games we make in the same world, such as Cloudfall: Expeditions and Aether Refiner, and any we release later. Before a game launches that means early access, testing opportunities, development updates and launch information; after it launches it means patch notes, new content, events and other news about that game. It is one newsletter, whichever of our pages you signed up from, and it continues after launch unless you unsubscribe. We rely on your consent, given when you tick the box on the form, as the legal basis for this. We will not use your address for anything else, and we will never sell or share it.
Your email address is submitted to, stored, and processed by Brevo, our email service provider, who hold it securely on our behalf for the purpose described above. You can read Brevo’s own privacy practices at brevo.com/en/legal/privacypolicy.
Our pages are served by Cloudflare. Their typefaces are served from this website itself — we do not load fonts from Google Fonts or any other third party, so fetching a page contacts no font service. As with any website, your browser sends your IP address and basic technical details (such as browser type) to Cloudflare in order to fetch the page, and Cloudflare also uses this to keep the site secure and available. We do not combine that information with your email address and we do not use it to identify you. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email we send. To have your data permanently deleted from our records, simply email us from the address you signed up with and ask — we’ll remove it from Brevo. You also have the right to ask what data we hold about you and to have it corrected.
